About Lisette

Lisette Shaffer is a worship leader and singer-songwriter born and raised in the DMV area. Her love for music is rooted in her love for Jesus. She aims to make music that glorifies God and helps others feel seen. Lisette has been singing since she was young and taught herself acoustic guitar in high school where music became a safe place for her. In 2021, Lisette began songwriting. This year, though hard for everyone, hit Lisette especially hard and resulted in two losses close to home. While healing from losing two loved ones and wrestling with anxiety, Lisette had Bethany Barnard’s record “All My Questions” on repeat. It was then that Lisette realized songwriting could be real, raw, and honest. Songs could be journal entries to God, so much so that maybe when she didn’t feel like praying, she could at least sing. Songwriting became a way for Lisette to process the ups and downs of life with God and she experienced the power of worship in that season of her life.

Though involved with music and worship leading for several years already, Lisette decided to take a step of faith and release her first single, titled "Your Love," in July 2025. Lisette wrote it while struggling with her own brokenness and wrestling with how God saw her in the midst of that. “Your Love” became a personal anthem of how God’s love surpasses our brokenness. In January of 2026, Lisette began working on more music. In June 2026, Lisette released her self-produced EP, “Songs I Need to Sing.” The EP is a collection of five songs that, as the title suggests, Lisette was compelled to write and sing during specific seasons of her life over the past few years. At the core, Lisette writes music about faith and life, rooted in her lived experiences, so she isn’t afraid to be vulnerable. Her style ranges from acoustic singer-songwriter to contemporary Christian.

Following the release of “Your Love” and several years of honing her craft, Lisette has been stepping out into the coffeehouse world to share her music. She will be taking “Songs I Need to Sing” to coffeehouses along the east coast throughout the next year. At a performance, you’ll hear Lisette’s songs and the stories behind them with some covers mixed in. You’ll hear the intimate, heartfelt songs as well as the powerful, worshipful ones. You’ll leave the show with happy ears, a full heart, and eyes fixed above. Lisette is a gentle but powerful voice that you don’t want to miss.
